? ? ? ?A polymer-assisted deposition (PAD) method will be introduced. This method was initially demonstrated as a very powerful method for epitaxial metal oxide thin film deposition. It has the advantages of thin film deposition from solution methods such as low-cost and coating on large area and the polymer binds with the metal ions to prevent ions from hydrolysis and the PAD solutions are extremely stable for years. Later we have extended this method for deposition metal nitride films for superconducting and transparent semiconductor applications.

? ? ? ?Hongmei Luo earned her Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from Tulane University, USA in 2006. She joined Chemical and Materials Engineering Department at New Mexico State University (NMSU) in 2009. She was early promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2014. Dr. Luo’s research focuses on epitaxial thin films for magnetic, superconducting, and battery applications. She is authored and co-authored 125 journal publications.?
